2022 Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel Scholarship

2022 marks the second Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel Scholarship. We are proud to announce that this year’s award will be $2000.

The Foundation awards a female soccer player who will be advancing into college to further her academic excellence while still playing the game she loves.

To apply for the scholarship, interested Western PA or WPIAL student athletes must submit an essay based on a pre-determined theme. All submissions will be reviewed by a select committee to determine the finalists. Each finalist will receive a phone interview to discuss their essay and provide an opportunity to expand on their goals as a student athlete. The committee will then reconvene and select the scholarship winner.

Scholarship will be awarded in May. 2022 applications were due on March 4, 2022.

This Year’s Essay Theme:

“Describe what Leadership is on a Team.”

  • Essays must be 500 Words or less.
  • Applicants must be a senior graduating from either Western PA or WPIAL in 2022, attending college and playing soccer in college.
  • Each application must include a transcript.
  • APPLICATIONS WERE DUE ON MARCH 4, 2022.

2021 Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel Scholarship Award Winners

2021 marked the inaugural year of the Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel Scholarship. We are proud to announce two winners of this year’s award, with each receiving a $2000 scholarship.

2021 Scholarship Winners

Hannah Nelson of Greensburg Central Catholic, and Sydney Willig of Norwin are the inaugural scholarship recipients. They were honored May 25, 2021, at a ceremony at Gato Taco & Tequila in Irwin, PA.

There are several principles that we hold onto as part of who Moe was and how she lived. One of those principles is helping others get to where they want to go. Awarding Hannah and Sydney with the scholarships is helping two great young ladies get there.

Moe Rosensteel Player of the Year Award

The award is given annually to a Western PA, high school student athlete whose play, leadership and passion for the game emulates that of the award’s namesake, Moe.

The Moe Rosensteel Player of the Year Award nominates players through a panel of coaches and media members. Those players who are nominated are then pared-down to three finalists. The panel then votes on the three finalists to determine the Player of the Year.

So far, we have awarded the Player of the Year in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
